The New Forest during WWII, Ashley Range

Service Description

This walk takes in an area of the north west corner New Forest used by the MOD during WWII. This test bombing range was use by the famous 617 Dambusters squadron to test many of Barnes Wallis's creations including variants of the the famous bouncing bomb, and is the site of the largest bomb ever to be dropped on British soil 'Grand Slam'. The walk takes approximately 3 hours, please allow for a little extra time for exploring the sites. Things to bring; +Walking boots/shoes +Suitable clothing, this walk happens in all weathers so be prepared. +Drink and snacks +Camera +A smile, you will be exploring a beautiful part of the New Forest National Park rich in history and wildlife. The walk is footpaths which can be wet or muddy after rain. Please wear suitable footwear. There are bit to read so if you are like me don't forget your glasses. This particular walk is dog friendly, dogs must be kept under control at all times, and it's owners responsibility. I will do dates which are dog free! The walk starts and finishes at Godshill Cricket ground car park, nice and easy to find and close to the Fighting Cocks Inn which offers a fantastic menu. CANCELLATION POLICY:   If you are unable to attend your course, please notify us as soon as possible. A full 100% refund will be given up to 5 days before the course start date. A 50% refund will be given between 24 hours to 5 days before the course start date. No refund will be given with less than 24 hours notice. No refunds will be given due to weather conditions unless there is an Amber or Red weather warning in place.  Walks will take place in all weather unless as stated above.
